Partnered with OpenAI
The Emergency Medicine AI Research Initiative (EMARI) is partnered with OpenAI as we engineer, test, and scientifically evaluate AI systems for emergency medicine and make research and EMS education tools accessible to everyone.
What the partnership means for EMARI
Our partnership with OpenAI supports the same goals that guide every EMARI project. These are the commitments we hold ourselves to.
Responsible AI in medicine
We build AI for emergency medicine with clear limits: our prototypes support education and research and are not a substitute for clinical judgment or medical direction.
Scientific evaluation
We test our systems, document how they perform, and publish our code, prototypes, test results, and written reports so others can examine the work.
Open EMS education
We keep research and learning tools accessible to clinicians, students, and the public through free, browser-based projects and study resources.
EMARI project prototypes
These are the AI and machine-learning prototypes developed and evaluated by the EMARI team.

EMARI content is for education and research only and is not medical advice. If you are having a medical emergency, call 911.
OpenAI and the OpenAI blossom logo are trademarks of OpenAI. The partner badge is shown in its landscape format with the required clear space, in the tier that corresponds to EMARI’s partner level.
